There are more pics on my LJ..come lookie.

Easy as pie  coffee
- cut cards into desired shape
- make hole
- place eyelet (there are tools for this at the craft store)
- add some beading (if desired)

Tadaaaaaaa

Thx. It actually started as a project to make a curtain. Then, this came about. (I started the curtain project to raise $$ for a childrens transplant charity)

That's a cute idea!
Did you just hammer in the eyelets or do you use a machine of some sort?

I punch the holes, then add the eyelets. There is a tool that stamps them into place, or you can do it with a pair of flat pliers.

Thx. Ive made tons of them. All shapes and sizes.

I've been trading some, gifting some, and etsian others..

But, it is a nice relaxing, stress reducing hobby. Plus, it prevents tond of waste from heading to the landfills.

I have them saved from various stores... and I also get them sent to me from all over the world. I just put out a call for bux cards and they started pouring in!

i checked out your lj and love all the things you've made! i've been slowly getting into the make-old-things-new deal. you can end up with way better things than what you buy in the store brand new!

I've been making a curtain. But, every time It gets too big .. it just doesnt hold together.

Then, I figured I would sew together two shower curtains and place the cards into it. (Kinda like a baseball card sleeve page)

It keep breaking my sewing machine needles.. But, I think it will work this time. (Once I get it done!)

Do you coat the paper cards in something so it won't melt if it gets wet? The bracelet is beautiful and it looks like something I could make, I'm just worried about the paper desintigrating. Thanks for posting the picture! I may have a new holiday gift to give. *g*

[info]venusjenntrap

December 4 2008, 22:33:25 UTC 3 years ago

I do not coat them. But, I can tell you that I have worn my personal one for about 8 months now. Showers, handwashing, toddling twins.. and it is still in tip top shape.

This is cute. I've been wondering how I could keep my itunes cards without them building up. I LOVE the images on those cards.
